The coronavirus pandemic has led people to embrace remote work, but not everyone is enjoying it.
Axon Optics — a Utah-based company — recently conducted a study of about 500 American workers to see how the COVID-19 pandemic and remote work has impacted health.
Here are some of the findings, according to a release sent to the Deseret News.
- About 40% of workers with migraines said they get headaches frequently since they’re looking at screens more.
- Some workers said they’re getting 50% more headaches than before.
- More than 60% of people with migraines want to return to office since it will mean less screen time.
- About 24% of workers with migraines said they couldn’t do their job with a migraine so they lost their job.
- 53% of parents said they can’t care for their kids as much as they want because of their migraines.

According to Axon, “the data shows how migraines are disturbing not just the professional lives of remote workers, but also their personal lives.”
