A Louisiana man has gone missing and has been presumed dead after an alligator attacked him earlier this week, according to The New York Times.

A woman said her husband, who is 71, was attacked by an alligator while walking in flood waters in Sidell, Louisiana, which is outside New Orleans, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

  • The woman said she heard the commotion and splashing from inside her home. She saw a huge alligator attacking her husband.
  • The alligator had him in the “death roll,” Capt. Lance Vitter of the sheriff’s office told The New York Times.
