PARK CITY — A man was killed Thursday morning when he lost control of the truck he was driving in Summit County, according to police.

The man, whose name has not been released, was driving a dump truck loaded with landscape rocks westbound on U.S. 40 on the flyover to I-80 just after 11:30 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol said.

He lost control of the truck — likely due to a combination of factors, including the wet, slick road, the speed of the truck, and a possible weight shift, police said — and swerved to the left, hitting the concrete barrier.

The truck then swerved to the right, hit the barrier on that side, and partially overturned.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck and fatally injured.
