Photos: Kicking the tires — Vehicles from Salt Lake City’s fleet set to hit the auction block

Interested buyers look over the selection of cars, trucks, campers and other items up for auction at TNT Auction in Salt Lake City on Friday. The live and online auction, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, features electric vehicles and a street vacuum sweeper from Salt Lake City’s fleet. According to city officials, the quarterly auction allows Salt Lake City and other municipal governments to repurpose vehicles and recapture revenue by selling older fleet vehicles that can no longer be maintained at a reasonable price. This revenue can then be used toward vehicle replacement funds for newer or more fuel-efficient models. Municipalities from across the Wasatch Front contract with TNT Auction to host the event. All items to be auctioned are posted to the TNT Auction website at tntauction.com.
