Utah ranked within the top 20 most romantic states in the country during the holiday season in a new report released this week.
The report, which comes from Civitatis, reviewed 600 destinations and 12,500 different activities
Utah: The Beehive State had rather positive rankings in the report.
- Utah ranked at No. 19 on the list, finishing ahead of Rhode Island, Iowa, Maryland and New York.
- Washington state topped the list, followed by Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Maine and Missouri in the top five.
- Utah ranked as having the third best snow in the country, the 10th best “Christmas spirit,” and the second best Christmas tree farms and Christmas music opportunities.
New York: You might think New York would place higher since New York City is one of the most romantic places in the country and it’s the subject of several Christmas-themed romantic comedies. But the report explained that New York as a state did not fair too well in its rankings:
“The state scored generally very well for snowfall with 55.32 inches of snow a year and a high romance score which is telling when looking at the opportunities in New York City during the festive period. Carriage rides in Central Park, ice skating at the Rockefeller Center and The Lights at Saks Fifth Avenue all provide the perfect mix of romance and festivity. However, New York is ranked as the least friendly destination out of all the states and has one of the lowest Christmas spend per person.”
