SPANISH FORK — A Spanish Fork man faces sex offense charges in four separate cases as police have identified additional victims.
On Dec. 6, Josiah Chris Reeder, 29, was charged in 4th District Court with five counts of lewdness involving a child, a class B misdemeanor. Two days later, he was charged with sodomy on a child and aggravated sex abuse of a child, first-degree felonies. On Dec. 16 he was charged with lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor, and was charged with the same crime in a separate case on Dec. 19.
In total, Reeder faces two felonies and seven misdemeanors. Additional charges could be filed depending on the results of information detectives were seeking on Reeder’s phone and social media accounts, according to a search warrant affidavit.
Spanish Fork police were contacted by the Division of Child and Family Services after that agency received reports of Reeder exposing himself to two juvenile girls, the affidavit states. Police then interviewed Reeder.
“As part of the conversation with Josiah, he admitted that he has a pornography addiction,” according to the warrant.
Reeder told the officers he had pictures of nude underage girls on his phone and that he has conversations with juvenile girls on the KiK app, the affidavit states.
According to charging documents, Reeder’s alleged crimes date back to at least 2014 and most of his victims were under 14 years of age.
Police noted in a booking affidavit that at the time Reeder was first arrested, he admitted to exposing himself “to several other juveniles on several occasions. There is still further investigation required and more charges will most likely be added at a future date.”
In one case, Reeder exposed himself at least five times “while a teenager was going to the bus stop,” charging documents state.
