SALT LAKE CITY — The Deseret News’ annual Christmas writing contest, “Christmas I Remember Best,” is accepting entries through Sunday, Dec. 15.

The Deseret News is asking readers to write original stories about their most memorable Christmas.

Multiple stories will be chosen for publication in the newspaper and on Deseret.com with the final story appearing on Christmas Day. These true-life stories should be original and no more than 800 words. The judges prefer stories that cover a wide range of Christmas experiences, including humor.

Here are the 9 winners of the 2018 ‘Christmas I Remember Best’ writing contest

Emailed entries are preferred, but printed hard copies also will be accepted. Handwritten copies must be legible. The author’s name, address, daytime and evening phone numbers and email address should be included.

Submit entries through an online form or send email entries to christmas@deseretnews.com. Mailed copies should be addressed to “Christmas Best” c/o Deseret News, P.O. Box 1257, Salt Lake City, UT 84110.

Submissions that are more than 800 words or that arrive after Sunday, Dec. 15, will not be considered. Because of the number of participants, the Deseret News is unable to acknowledge receipt of individual submissions.
