Tooele District to discuss $190M bond at public meetings

TOOELE — The Tooele County School District will hold two community meetings to discuss a $190 million bond that will be placed on the November ballot.

The meetings will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m., Grantsville High School, 155 E. Cherry St., and Monday, Sept. 30, 6:30 p.m., Tooele High School, 301 W. Vine St.

According to the district, if approved, the bond will be used to build a new high school, a new middle school and a new elementary school, as well as add security upgrades to existing schools.

The new high schools would be built in the Overlake area will help with overcrowding in Tooele and Stansbury high schools. The new elementary would be built in Grantsville, and the new junior high school would be built in Stansbury Park.
