Pete Poletta loads boxes of food into a Jeep during a Take 1, Give 1 food box giveaway outside of the Salt Lake City Mission offices in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Those who are struggling to feed their families could stop by and pick up a food box for themselves and also pick one up for a friend or neighbor in need. It was expected that 1,300 food boxes containing meat, veggies, fruit and dairy would be given away. In addition, the mission is sponsoring a Scare Away Hunger food drive. People can stop by the mission’s offices, 1151 S. Redwood Road, and pick up a grocery bag with information on what food the mission is collecting. People can then fill the bag and return it to the mission’s offices or any Zurchers location.
