Christa Lynn Luckenbach plants a purple flag in Liberty Park Saturday in recognition of Utahns who are affected by domestic violence. Service providers across the state organized flag-planting events Saturday, along with planned walks, as part of the monthlong Stop the Violence Utah campaign. The effort focuses on education, prevention, advocacy and investment to end sexual and domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
