SALT LAKE CITY — GREENbike and SelectHealth, the nonprofit bike share system’s title sponsor, are offering free GREENbike rides Tuesday to mark the beginning of the early voting for the November general election.

All Salt Lake City residents will be able to ride GREENbikes for free during the 24-hour period by using the promo code “202020” at any GREENbike kiosk. Riders can take as many 30-minute trips as they want during the 24-hour window.

Early voting runs Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 30. GREENbike and SelectHealth will also be providing free GREENbike access to the public on Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Ballot drop box locations near GREENbike stations include the drop box at the Salt Lake City Library, 420 S. 200 East, and the drop box at the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 S. State. Voters can drop off their ballots at these secure drop box locations 24/7 until 8 p.m. on election night.

According to the nonprofit, residents riding GREENbikes have offset more than 5.3 million pounds of CO2 from entering the air and avoided more than 5.9 million vehicle miles from impacting local roads over the past seven years. In addition, GREENbikers burned nearly 78 million calories — roughly 272,000 slices of pizza — in the process.
