SALT LAKE CITY — Police are investigating two gun-involved incidents that occurred Wednesday and are believed to be connected, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. David Wierman.

No one was injured in either incident, police said.

First, a white Nissan Frontier was stolen at gunpoint at the Love’s Travel Stop at 25 N. Redwood Road. The truck has Utah plates that read U570AE.

Wierman asks that anyone who sees the vehicle contact the police.

Based on descriptions of the suspect and vehicle, police believe the truck was then driven to Parkview Elementary School, 970 Emery Street, where shots were fired at an individual but missed. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police do not know what precipitated the shooting.

The suspected shooter was not in custody Wednesday night. He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s and was wearing a grey top. Police are not sure if there was more than one person involved.
