RIVERSIDE — A 38-year-old woman was killed when her van collided with a semitrailer Wednesday morning near Riverside.
The woman was traveling south on 4400 West at the intersection of state Route 30 around 8:26 a.m., according to Utah Highway Patrol. Preliminary investigations indicate the woman, driving a Honda Odyssey, didn’t observe a stop sign at the intersection, and the van struck a semitractor-trailer that was eastbound on S.R. 30.
“The impact occurred at the rear axle of the trailer,” UHP said in a news release. “The female driver and only occupant of the Odyssey received fatal injuries.”
The truck driver was uninjured.
An investigation is ongoing. The deceased driver’s name will be released after family is notified of her death by law enforcement.
