MIDWAY — A missing Heber City man was found dead Sunday morning after crashing a utility task vehicle in Wasatch Mountain State Park, officials said.
Anthony Patrick Dugmore, 61, left to go hunting alone late Saturday afternoon, Utah State Parks Lt. Eric Stucki said. When his family didn’t hear from him again after 5 p.m., they notified authorities he was missing.
Search and rescue crews began looking for Dugmore Sunday morning and found him about 10 a.m. in the Cascade Spring area, Stucki said.
“His UTV had gone off trail and gone off a steep slope about 1,000 feet and he was found at the bottom of that slope,” according to Stucki.
Dugmore was believed to have been wearing a seat belt, but not a helmet.
“The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation extends our condolences to the friends and family impacted by this tragedy,” the division said in a statement.
