TOOELE — A registered sex offender in Tooele was arrested Sunday after police say he was spotted on top of his neighbor’s shed and peering into the house.

Gabriel Leroy Crosby, 38, of Tooele, was booked into the Tooele County Jail for investigation of two counts of trespassing, two counts of lewdness and stalking.

Tooele police were called to the victim’s home Sunday night. Officers learned that Crosby had “entered onto the victim’s property two to five times in the previous year to look into the victim’s home through their windows, including tonight,” according to a police affidavit.

When interviewed by police, Crosby recounted at least two incidents where he looked inside his neighbor’s windows and watched a young girl, the affidavit states.

In 2012, Crosby was convicted of an amended charge of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. He was sentenced to a year in jail, placed on three years of probation and required to register with the Utah Sex Offender and Kidnapping Registry, according to court records.
