NEPHI — A 25-year-old man was killed in a single vehicle crash near Nephi on Wednesday.

The incident happened on I-15 about 6:30 a.m. A 2005 Nissan truck heading north swerved into the median for an unknown reason, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

“The truck rotated counterclockwise and began rolling multiple times, coming to rest facing south on the inside edge of the southbound travel lanes. The driver, and sole occupant, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck,” the UHP said in a statement.

Traffic was diverted for about three hours while the crash was investigated. Speed is believed to be a factor, according to troopers. The name of the deceased driver was not immediately released.
