MAPLETON — A Salem man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Mapleton Tuesday.

Hunter Turner, 19, was traveling to his job in Springville when a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and hit two other cars and Turner on U.S. 89 near 800 North, according to police.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday as the crash remained under investigation.

Turner graduated from Salem Hills High School in 2019 and is the oldest of four children.

“Hunter was an avid photographer and car/motorcycle mechanic. His parents say he spent more time in the garage than inside the home. Hunter had purchased his motorcycle this past August and had made many upgrades to it,” according to a statement from Mapleton Police Chief John Jackson.

A GoFundMe campaign was started to help Turner’s family pay for funeral expenses.
