SALT LAKE CITY — Three men were arrested Sunday after police say they assaulted a man at his residence, then later attacked a man walking his dog in downtown Salt Lake City.
Just before 1 p.m., police were called to the area of 2200 South and 1900 East where a man said he was attacked outside of his house by three men who were looking for a former resident, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Keith Horrocks.
The victim lost consciousness, according to a police affidavit, and then was assaulted again once the group went into the house. The man was also threatened with a gun.
After the trio left the house, they came across a man walking his dog along Market Street about an hour later and got into a confrontation with him for an unknown reason. The men got out of their car to further engage with the dog walker and during the ensuing assault, one of them fired a shot into the air, the affidavit states. The man was not seriously injured.
Police searching the area found the suspects’ vehicle at a nearby restaurant where the men were eating and they were arrested, Horrocks said.
Christopher Begue, 21, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated burglary and assault causing substantial injury,
Tarren Gomez, 24, was arrested for investigation of aggravated burglary, threatening to use a weapon during a fight and discharging a firearm.
Tag Fowers, 20, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.
According to the affidavit, the men went to the residence “for reasons of retaliation.”
