SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police continued Wednesday to look for a gunman who shot three people near a motel, killing one and injuring two others.
Police were called just after midnight Tuesday on multiple reports of shots fired. They arrived to find one person shot in the arm at the Main Street Motel, 1518 S. Main. That person was transported to a local hospital.
Officers then found Salesi Tvivailala Katoa, 37, of Salt Lake City, dead inside a car near Kensington Avenue and State Street. A third person later showed up at St. Mark’s Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
Salt Lake police announced Wednesday the two other victims are a 29-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. Their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
