WEST POINT — A Davis County sheriff’s deputy was involved in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday.

No one was injured in the incident, however, according to the sheriff’s office.

The shooting happened about 10 a.m. in West Point near 4600 West and 800 North. Deputies respond to the area on a report of a “suspicious male,” the sheriff's office said in a prepared statement.

“Shots were fired, no one was injured. The male was transported to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue,” according to the statement.

No other information was released about what led up to shots being fired.

“Davis County Sheriff’s Office will provide an update in a few days,” the sheriff’s office stated.
