BEAVER — An Idaho woman died from injuries sustained in a rollover accident on I-15 near Beaver on Wednesday afternoon.
Elizabeth McCarver, 84, of Osburn, Idaho, died as she was being transported to a hospital by ambulance Wednesday around 4 p.m.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a Dodge pickup truck pulling a utility trailer was northbound on I-15 when the truck, traveling below the posted speed limit in the right lane, began drifting into the left lane.
The truck went off the roadway on the left side of the northbound lanes before the driver attempted to pull the truck and trailer back onto the roadway, causing it to veer back into the right lane and then roll.
“The vehicle then rolled one and a half times and came to rest on the passenger side,” police said. “When troopers arrived, the female passenger was located in the backseat with severe injuries. The male driver suffered minor injuries.”
Both the male driver and McCarver were taken to hospitals, but McCarver passed away before she arrived at the medical facility.
Fatigue is being investigated as the possible cause for the crash, investigators said.
