SANTAQUIN — One man died after a colliding with a semitractor-trailer near Santaquin on U.S. 6 about 10:30 Friday morning.

Witnesses said the driver of a white Ford Explorer was not staying in his westbound lane, according to a press release from Utah Highway Patrol.

As the Explorer drifted further out of its lane, the driver of an eastbound Kenworth semitractor-trailer tried to pull onto the shoulder and avoid the SUV, but the Explorer hit the truck, troopers reported.

The driver of the Explorer died at the scene, the highway patrol said. No other injuries were reported.

The victim’s name and age were not immediately released. UHP is still investigating the crash.
