Cara Martinez takes a photo of Illyana Martinez and Emma Morgan as Tristan Morgan drives them through “Light the RioT,” a drive-thru light show outside Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy on Monday. The show, which features 1 million LED lights synchronized to music, kicked off Monday with a special free preview night for front-line health care workers. Public visitation will run through May 13, from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night. Attendees will watch the 20-minute show from their vehicles and tune their radios to a locally established channel to listen to the music. Admission is $30, with all proceeds benefiting Frontline Relief, a program that provides financial assistance for workers affected by COVID-19. Tickets are required and space is limited. They can be purchased at lighttheriot.com.
