SALT LAKE CITY — A man with a lengthy criminal history was arrested early Wednesday after police say he was caught looking into a young girl’s window.
James Michael McCrimmon, 59, whose address is listed in court records as the homeless shelter in South Salt Lake, was arrested about 1 a.m. for investigation of voyeurism against a juvenile, lewdness involving a child, lewdness, trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief.
Salt Lake police were called to a home in the Fairpark neighborhood on a report of a possible burglar. Officers arrived to find McCrimmon inside a gated front yard, according to a police booking affidavit.
“James was found by the owners of the home on the side of the house, looking into the bedroom window of a 7-year-old girl who was asleep. James had his pants halfway down,” according to the affidavit.
McCrimmon has an extensive criminal history in Utah over the past 10 years, according to court records.
