LOGAN — One driver was hospitalized in critical condition after a vehicle and a semitrailer collided up Logan Canyon Monday afternoon, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
The crash, which occurred about 2:10 p.m., left U.S. 89 closed in both directions for several hours.
A Ford Escort traveling north moved partially into the southbound lanes where it was hit head-on by a semi, the UHP reported.
The semitrailer went off the road on the south side of the street where it landed in the Logan river. Troopers said the driver of the Escort was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The semitruck driver was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
