SPANISH FORK — Air and ground resources responded to two fires burning in western Spanish Fork near Utah Lake Monday night.
According to tweets by Utah Fire Info, the Lincoln Fire was sparked by target shooters hitting an explosive target around dry vegetation; the fire had burned around 5 acres. A witness cooperated with investigators in providing more detail, fire officials said.
The Orchard Fire burned an estimated 100 acres, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials reported. It was 50% contained at last count, according to Utah Fire Info.
