MILLCREEK — A 41-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car at an intersection in Millcreek around sunset Wednesday.

“What we know is a motorcycle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, eastbound on 300 South, collided with a car turning left,” said Unified Police Deputy Chief Kris Ownby. “It was dusk ... and it’s difficult to assess speed and distance, especially when the speed is excessive.”

Ownby said the department’s accident reconstruction team will take over the investigation, in which the eastbound motorcycle collided with a white car turning south on 2700 East. A man and a woman — siblings, according to Ownby — were in the white vehicle.

“They were treated by fire at the scene,” he said. “Family will take them to the hospital, just as a precaution, after they talk with detectives.”

The name of the man who was killed wasn’t immediately released.
