Ashley Muhlestein paddles a small raft with her two boys, Hawk and August, as they enjoy the weather at Silver Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon on Tuesday. According to utahoutdooractivities.com, the lake is surrounded by a boardwalk making it accessible to people of all ages, as well as those with disabilities. The boardwalk is less than a mile long and features benches, picnic tables and a dock area for fishing. The lake, which is stocked with trout each year, is a popular hiking destination in the spring, summer and fall.
