PROVO — A second gunman has been arrested by Provo police stemming from a confrontation between a motorist and protesters that resulted in one man being shot earlier this week.

Bradley Glenn Walters, 29, of Ogden, was arrested Wednesday night for investigation of aggravated assault and rioting.

On Monday, a 60-year-old Provo man was shotwhile driving an SUV near Center Street and University Avenue. The driver was blocked from moving by a group of people protesting police in front of the Provo Police Department.

Jesse Taggart, 33, of Salt Lake City, and Samantha Darling, 27, of Ogden, were arrested in connection with the incident. Taggart was arrested for investigation of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, rioting, threatening use of a weapon in a fight, criminal mischief and firing a weapon near a highway. Darling was arrested for investigation of obstruction of justice and rioting.

But as police reviewed video taken by numerous witnesses, a second man was spotted pointing a gun at the driver, but did not shoot.

According to a second police affidavit, “At the same time Jesse was shooting at the victim in the vehicle, Bradley Glenn Walters was recorded in the middle of the intersection pulling a revolver handgun and pointed it at the driver of the vehicle as Jesse was chasing the vehicle through the intersection and firing at it for the second time. Bradley continued running after the vehicle while pointing his gun at the driver, until the vehicle was gone.”

Walters spoke with police later that night, the affidavit states.
