SUNDANCE — An 11-year-old girl suffered critical injuries after falling an estimated 70-feet near Stewart Falls.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m. on Sunday above Sundance Resort in Provo Canyon. The young girl somehow “lost her footing” and fell. She briefly lost consciousness but was awake when rescuers arrived, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies, members of the Search and Rescue Team, the North Fork Fire Department and Intermountain LifeFlight responded to rescue the girl. She was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City to be treated for head injuries.
