SALT LAKE CITY — A Heber City man was charged Thursday with raping an 11-year-old girl during sleepovers.
Dennis Early Skiby, 60, is charged in 4th District Court with four first-degree felonies: two counts of rape of a child and two counts of sodomy on a child.
The girl was assaulted during sleepovers at a friend’s house, according to charging documents. It was discovered after a family member found inappropriate messages on the girl’s Snapchat account.
“(The mother) was shocked with the messages between the two of them,” which dated back over the past year, the charges state.
Some of the messages from Skiby included “I love you” and some were sexually explicit, the charges say.
A warrant for Skiby’s arrest was issued Thursday.
