Utah may have seen some snow on Tuesday as wicked winds whipped through the Beehive State.
Northern Utah experienced heavy winds Monday night into Tuesday morning, causing major power outages and school closures. In fact, 170,000 lost power as strong winds wreaked havoc, as the Deseret News reported.
The winds came from some “downslope winds,” which begin when cold, dense air moves in from the eastern side of the Wasatch Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
Multiple people on social media tweeted that there has been snowfall along the Wasatch Front and in the mountain ranges because of the winds.

These cold temperatures and light snowfall come as a winter storm runs through Colorado as well. Reports suggested snow could appear in high-elevation areas, KSL.com reports.
