MIDVALE — A 16-year-old girl working at a convenience store was sexually assaulted by her manager, according to police.
Chakradhar Thuta, 28, of Midvale, was charged Thursday in 3rd District Court with forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony; and two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
On Oct. 11, a 16-year-old girl was at work at a convenience store near 8000 S. State when her manager, Thuta, pulled her into his office under the guise of brushing dog hair off her, according to charging documents. Thuta then had her sit down “so he could show her some things on the computer,” the charges state, and started to touch her thigh.
Thuta then had the teen put a sign on the front door of the business stating they were temporarily closed and had the girl go to a back office where there were no security cameras, according to charging documents.
Once in the back room, Thuta sexually assaulted the girl, the charges state. The girl stated that she “complied” with Thuta “because she did not want to make her boss upset,” according to court documents.
