A woman who police say helped four children run away from their foster home now faces several felony charges.
Arianna Marie Suess, 21, of Clearfield, was charged Monday in 2nd District Court with three counts of child kidnapping, a first-degree felony; and child kidnapping, a second-degree felony.
The Weber County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the incident Saturday when it was reported that four siblings, ranging from 3 to 14 in age, had left their foster home in Plain City about 10:45 p.m., according to charging documents.
Investigators discovered that the 14-year-old had been communicating with Suess and arranged a plan for her to pick the group up and drive them to a friend’s house in Salt Lake City, the charges state.
The children were later found by police. Whether the residents in Salt Lake City were aware of what was happening remained under investigation Tuesday.
