From devastation to determination: Sisters rebuild their lives after horrific car crash
On Nov. 22, 2024, sisters Jessica and Sabrina Wilhite were driving through northern Arizona to Utah for the Thanksgiving holiday and to see their brother, Luke, off who was leaving on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
About an hour north of Flagstaff, Arizona, the sisters’ car was struck by a truck, which had crossed into their lane on the desolate stretch of highway. Both were seriously injured and it would be weeks before their survival was assured. Surgery after surgery opened the possibility of complications.
Doctors were forced to amputate Sabrina’s arm while she was still in a coma. Jessica had numerous surgeries for internal injuries. Both continue to walk the difficult path of recovery.
