Six years ago, Deseret News reporter Jeff Call flew to Brazil to talk with Stanford quarterback recruit Tanner McKee about the decision to leave college football behind for two years to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The decision was considered risky for a top-rated and highly recruited quarterback, but McKee stuck by his decision. Turns out it's worked out pretty good for him, as tonight he is the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Dallas Cowboys. McKee is filling in for Jalen Hurts who is out due to blood clots. Read Jeff's piece here.
