FAYETTE, Sanpete County — Crews Saturday recovered the body of a man who drowned at Yuba Lake.
The drowning occurred at 9:50 a.m. when a 21-year-old man from Springville took a sharp turn and flew off a WaveRunner, Juab County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brent Pulver said.
The 21-year-old never resurfaced after the crash. He was not wearing a life vest, according to the chief deputy.
Several of the victim’s friends witnessed the drowning, Pulver said.
A search and rescue and dive team had been searching for his body throughout Saturday afternoon before they found him by about 5 p.m.
