PROVO — A fire started in a fourplex in Provo Saturday, leaving one apartment “completely gutted” but no one injured, according to Provo Fire and Rescue Fire Capt. Sam Armstrong.

The blaze was reported about noon and began in a downstairs apartment of a building located at 655 E. 600 South, Armstrong said. Multiple fire crews responded to the incident. When they arrived, fire was coming out the front door and a window, along with significant smoke, but everyone was able to get out safely.

The apartment where the fire started is a total loss, and the one above had to be heavily ventilated for smoke. The other two units were unaffected, according to Armstrong.
