Perry Como says he dislikes the million-selling "awful novelty songs" that made him a success, but concert audiences still want to hear them.
"They said you sing it and I did it," Como said of the producers of songs like "Papa Love Mambo," "Chiwawa, Chiwawa, Chiwaba" and "Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes."" `A Hubba-Hubba-Hubba' was another sick one and another gold record," said Como, 76, who has been performing at Bally's Grand Hotel and Casino.
"I still do them onstage once in a while because the audience wants it, but I say `yech' afterwards."

Como's got his first taste of bad songs when he sang with Ted Weems' big band, featuring whistler Elmo Tanner, in the 1930s and 1940s.
