Burglars used tools from the Henry S. Day Ford Co. service department to open the company's safe.

Employees arriving at the dealership, 3899 S. Redwood Road, about 6:30 a.m. Thursday discovered the broken safe and an acetylene torch and other tools nearby, said West Valley police officer Brent Bracken. Cash and checks were taken from the safe, and company employees were still counting the losses later Thursday morning while officers collected fingerprints and other evidence at the dealership.Bracken said one or more people gained entry to the service area where they wheeled the torch to the office where the safe is located.
