Salt Lake Community College basketball player Melvin Love has signed a letter-of-intent to play next season at UNLV, and teammate Derwin "Tank" Collins signed with the University of New Orleans.

Love is a 6-foot-10, 225-pound sophomore forward-center who averaged 15 points a game last year for the Bruins. He starred at Cahoon High in San Bernadino, Calif., where he was named first-team all-CIF in 1987.Collins, a 6-4, 209-pound sophomore from Pomona, Calif., was a high school All-America. He averaged 20 points and eight rebounds for the Bruins last season.
