Bud Fassel, father of University of Utah football coach Jim Fassel, was listed in critical condition Wednesday morning following heart bypass surgery at LDS Hospital.

The elder Fassel was in intensive care after a quintuple bypass was performed. He went into surgery Tuesday afternoon. "He seems fine, his heart is good and his lungs are good," said Coach Fassel.The elder Fassel had heart palpitations during the Utah-Colorado State football game last Saturday and was taken to the hospital.
