Tired of shoplifters who preyed on his business, Donald Flinchbaugh closed the store and auctioned off every item - except one.

On Tuesday, someone stole it.A thief swiped a $1,000 cash register as buyers picked up items they bought during the public auction Dec. 3 at the former Ole Toll Gate Super Thrift Store. The register was the only item not sold during the auction.

Flinchbaugh, who owned the store for two years, said he closed his business Oct. 29.
