New stakes have been created in Brisbane, Australia; Oaxaca, Mexico; and in Orem and West Jordan, Utah.
On Jan. 31, Elder Boyd K. Packer of the Council of the Twelve presided in the creation of the Orem Utah Northridge Stake, formed by a division of the Orem Utah Windsor Stake. Orem now has 19 stakes.Elder L. Tom Perry of the Council of the Twelve officiated Feb. 7 in the creation of the West Jordan Utah Prairie Stake, created from units of the West Jordan Utah Oquirrh Stake. There are now 11 stakes in West Jordan.
Elder John Sonnenberg of the First Quorum of the Seventy presided Feb. 7 in the creation of the Brisbane Australia North Stake from the Brisbane Australia Stake. Australia now has 18 stakes, with three in Brisbane.
Also on Feb. 7, Elder Robert E. Wells of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiated in division of the Oaxaca Mexico Stake to create the Oaxaca Mexico Monte Alban Stake. The new stake is the second in Oaxaca and the 91st in Mexico.
In addition, stake presidencies have been reorganized in Brisbane, Australia; Gulfport, Miss.; Makiling, Philippines; Mililani, Hawaii; Oaxaca, Mexico; and in Orem and West Jordan Utah.
