Treasury Secretary James Baker refused to say whether he would leave his post to repeat his 1980 role as campaign manager for George Bush or accept second place on a Republican ticket headed by the vice president.

"For now, I think my job is at the Treasury, and that is where I expect to stay for now," Baker said Monday in Detroit.
