Espinoza, now 30-3 with 25 knockouts, put Montoya down twice in the third round of the scheduled 10-round fight, once in the fifth and three times in the sixth round to stop the bout on the three-knockdown rule. Montoya, the state featherweight champion, saw his record fall to 17-6-1.
