Elder David B. Haight, a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was upgraded to serious but stable condition Wednesday morning at LDS Hospital after undergoing abdominal surgery.

Elder Haight, 82, was admitted to the hospital Monday evening suffering from abdominal pain. Hospital officials said he underwent surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm and was in critical condition Tuesday. He underwent additional surgery Tuesday afternoon to remove blood clots.
