Elder David B. Haight, 82, of the Council of the Twelve, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was in serious but stable condition Thursday in LDS Hospital, where he underwent abdominal surgery early Tuesday.

He was admitted to the hospital Monday night, and underwent surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Tuesday afternoon he had additional surgery to remove blood clots.
