The Utah Advertising Federation honored local advertising firms with 218 "Addys" during the 1988 Utah Addy Awards competition held recently in the Red Lion Inn.

Judging a record 1,100 entries were Joe Kilgore, executive vice president and creative director at Ogilvy & Mather, Houston; Warren Johnson, vice president and art director of Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis; Tom Gillmore, creative director at The Richards Group, Dallas; and John Annarino, president of John Annarino Advertising, Los Angeles.Of the 218 "Addys," 62 Gold Awards were handed out.

Among the top winning agencies were Williams & Rockwood, 38 awards, 14 gold; Dahlin Smith White Inc., 28 awards, eight gold; Cole & Weber, 22 awards, six gold; Evans Communication, 19 awards, seven gold; Borders Perrin & Norrander, 17 awards, six gold; Fotheringham & Associates, 15 awards, four gold; Penna Powers Cutting & Haynes Inc., 11 awards, three gold; and KUTV, 15 awards, four gold.
