It stands about 4 feet tall with an elongated neck and cream-colored face, and nose and ears either deep brown or black. Its body is reddish-brown and the legs are a creamy-white color with zebra-like stripes and bands of purple-black.The okapi, whose forelegs look longer than its hind legs, is a shy animal that stays in remote areas.
